Digital ROW Utilities ("the App") is a professional field data collection tool for documenting utility infrastructure. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
The App uses your device's GPS to position utility assets during field data collection. Location data is:
Photos taken within the App are stored locally on your device. They are included in exports only when you choose to export with photos enabled (e.g., KMZ format). We do not access your photo library beyond photos you explicitly capture or select within the App.
PDFs and images of material certifications are stored locally on your device. OCR text extraction is performed on-device using Apple's Vision framework. No document content is sent to external servers.
The App includes a bundled public GIS catalog and can retrieve updated catalog listings from PurposeBuilt Systems. It does not use Firebase authentication or cloud account synchronization in this release. When you browse maps or query WFS/ArcGIS sources, the selected provider receives your network address and the requested map area or geographic query. Reports about public catalog sources that you choose to send may be stored by PurposeBuilt Systems to maintain the catalog. In version 1.0.3, sources you add yourself stay on your device; adding a source does not publish its endpoint or credentials to the community registry.
If you configure NTRIP credentials for GPS correction services, your username and password are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted, on-device only). The App connects to third-party CORS networks to receive GPS correction data. We do not operate these networks.
Improvement logging is off by default. If you enable it, the App records selected decisions and corrections locally to help evaluate its extraction and autofill behavior. These records are not automatically uploaded. You can turn logging off, clear its local records in Settings, or choose to export them. Detection review feedback is also stored locally. Debug logs may contain geographic coordinates; review logs before sharing them with support.
All captured utility data, photos, certifications, and session files are stored locally on your device. Data is exported only when you explicitly choose to export or share. Cloud account synchronization is disabled. Publishing to ArcGIS, agency filing routes, or cross-app integrations may store the information you send with the selected service.
Optional team sign-in uses your existing DTCD account through Supabase authentication. Your email address and account identifier are used to authenticate you and check team access. When you choose the DTCD permit integration, applicant name, email, phone number, work coordinates, and project or permit details are sent to PurposeBuilt Systems services and may be associated with the applicant or account. Ordinary field capture and export do not require this sign-in.
The App may integrate with Digital Traffic Control Diary (DTCD) for traffic control coordination. This integration creates project records in the DTCD system via HTTP API. Project name, geographic location, and permit information may be shared when you choose an enabled integration. These records can contain personal or project-sensitive information; review the destination before sharing.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can delete all app data by deleting the app. Exported files are under your control once shared.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Contact us using the address below with questions about information you have submitted directly to PurposeBuilt Systems. Requests involving records you published to another provider should also be directed to that provider.
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL. The effective date above identifies the current version.
