Overview

Digital ROW Utilities ("the App") is a professional field data collection tool for documenting utility infrastructure. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Location Data

The App uses your device's GPS to position utility assets during field data collection. Location data is:

• Used to geo-tag captured assets and photos
• Stored locally on your device in session files
• Included in exported data files (GeoJSON, KML, CSV, etc.) that you choose to share
• Not transmitted to our servers or any third party without your explicit action

Photos

Photos taken within the App are stored locally on your device. They are included in exports only when you choose to export with photos enabled (e.g., KMZ format). We do not access your photo library beyond photos you explicitly capture or select within the App.

Material Certification Documents

PDFs and images of material certifications are stored locally on your device. OCR text extraction is performed on-device using Apple's Vision framework. No document content is sent to external servers.

WFS Catalog Data

The App connects to Firebase to access a shared catalog of public WFS (Web Feature Service) data sources. This connection:

• Uses anonymous authentication (no personal account required)
• Reads public utility data source listings
• May write source ratings and new source submissions
• Does not transmit your captured utility data, photos, or personal information

NTRIP/CORS Connections

If you configure NTRIP credentials for GPS correction services, your username and password are stored in the iOS Keychain (encrypted, on-device only). The App connects to third-party CORS networks to receive GPS correction data. We do not operate these networks.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone)
• We do not track your location when the App is not in active use
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes

Data Storage

All captured utility data, photos, certifications, and session files are stored locally on your device. Data is exported only when you explicitly choose to export or share. We have no server-side storage of your field data.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) — Anonymous authentication and WFS catalog only. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Apple MapKit — Map rendering. Apple Privacy Policy
• NTRIP/CORS Networks — GPS corrections (user-configured). Operated by state DOTs and third parties.

Cross-App Integration

The App may integrate with Digital Traffic Control Diary (DTCD) for traffic control coordination. This integration creates project records in the DTCD system via HTTP API. Only project name, location, and permit information are shared — no personal data.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. You can delete all app data by deleting the app. Exported files are under your control once shared.

California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Since we collect minimal data (anonymous Firebase auth only), there is no personal information to access, delete, or port.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance.
