What Georgia requires

From the specification

GDOT Section 150 SP: "The WTCS shall perform inspections, at a minimum once a month, to ensure that traffic control is maintained. For all interstate and limited access highways, the WTCS shall perform, as a minimum, weekly traffic control inspections. The inspections shall be reported to the Engineer on a TC-1 report."

AND: "The WTCS shall inspect the activity area daily to ensure that effective pedestrian TTC is being maintained. The inspection of TTC for pedestrian traffic shall be included as part of the TC-1 report."

Daily clause is narrowly scoped to pedestrian TTC; full daily TC inspection is weekly/monthly.

How solid is this? Binding language has been identified for Georgia, with page-level verification of the source document still outstanding. Treat the citation as a strong lead rather than a settled quotation, and check it against your contract documents.

How DTCD satisfies it

Daily Entries + Smart Photo Capture produce the daily pedestrian TTC inspection required by GDOT Section 150 SP, with weekly/monthly inspection of all TC for interstates and limited access highways. Multi-Format Export produces TC-1 report format. Personnel Tracking documents WTCS presence; Certification Management tracks ATSSA or NSC certification.

What DTCD adds beyond the requirement

On federal-aid work, 23 CFR 630 Subparts J and K apply whatever Georgia specifies, with a compliance date of December 31, 2026 — the federal floor, explained. And after an incident the questions come from the incident, not the specification: 105 published judicial matters on that.

DTCD produces this record from the drive-through itself, and names the controlling Georgia requirement on the generated PDF. Open a sample before deciding anything.

Filing a work-zone request in Georgia?

Draw the closure on a map and the builder reads the route, mileposts and county from Georgia’s own public GIS, checks bridge clearance on the route and the detour, and exports a WZDx feature, a PDF or an email. It runs in the browser — nothing is submitted or stored.

What changes at the Georgia state line

Crews rarely work one state, and the record a neighbouring DOT expects is often named differently and cited somewhere else entirely. Here is how the states bordering Georgia compare:
