What Mississippi requires

From the specification

MDOT Special Provision 907-618-12: "Once work begins, daily daytime inspections and weekly nighttime inspections are required on projects with predominantly daytime work, and daily nighttime inspections and weekly daytime inspections are required on projects with predominantly nighttime work. Weekly inspections will be allowed for periods outside of active construction."

SP is on MDOT LPA Project Development Manual checklist confirming recurrence across MDOT contracts.

How DTCD satisfies it

Daily Entries + Smart Photo Capture produce the daily daytime and weekly nighttime inspection records required by SP 907-618-12 (or daily nighttime + weekly daytime depending on project schedule). Daily Reminders auto-schedules inspection cadence per project work-time profile.

What DTCD adds beyond the requirement

Who this helps

Contractor: SP 907-618-12 daily inspection obligation is automated with stronger evidentiary record. DOT: MDOT can verify SP compliance via Public Dashboard without inspector site visits.

On federal-aid work, 23 CFR 630 Subparts J and K apply whatever Mississippi specifies, with a compliance date of December 31, 2026 — the federal floor, explained. And after an incident the questions come from the incident, not the specification: 105 published judicial matters on that.

DTCD produces this record from the drive-through itself, and names the controlling Mississippi requirement on the generated PDF. Open a sample before deciding anything.

Filing a work-zone request in Mississippi?

Draw the closure on a map and the builder reads the route, mileposts and county from Mississippi’s own public GIS, checks bridge clearance on the route and the detour, and exports a WZDx feature, a PDF or an email. It runs in the browser — nothing is submitted or stored.

What changes at the Mississippi state line

Crews rarely work one state, and the record a neighbouring DOT expects is often named differently and cited somewhere else entirely. Here is how the states bordering Mississippi compare:
